within a budding grove will open an online shop & a location on basalt mountain (by appointment only) spring 2026. plants will be sold at potato day in carbondale on saturday 4 october 2025 and regularly at local markets in 2026.

we are located on basalt mountain within one of the oldest permaculture forest gardens & forest garden greenhouses in the country, which serves as our main source of material and inspiration for cultivating a diverse variety of edible perennials, nitrogen fixers, insectary plants, and more.

in addition to the nursery, within a budding grove is engaged in a variety of other plant related activities. at this time, we offer compost tea brewing and applications. our location within the forest garden serves as material and inspiration for our brews as well. click here to learn more.
